SPEEDEALER Announce New Bassist
April 19, 2004SPEEDEALER have announced the addition of "permanent" bassist Jason Kottwitz (SWAMPASS, TUMMLER) to the group's ranks. "We'd like to give a heartfelt thanks to Casey Orr, Keith Pastrick, and Jason Gavin for their time and effort while filling in on bass," the band write on their web site. "We are very much indebted to each of you. In addition, we are appreciative of everyone who came out to the shows and put up with the ever-changing (and at times bass-less) line-up. It means a lot to us."
SPEEDEALER are currently writing new material before heading back out on the road "in a couple of months." Exact cities and dates will be announced soon.
SPEEDEALER's most recent album, "Bleed", was released last November through Dead Teenager Records. "Bleed" was recorded June 10-11, 2003 at Top Hat studios in Austin, Texas, and was produced by J.D. Pinkus, former bassist of the BUTTHOLE SURFERS and a current member of HONKY. Pinkus has worked with bands such as DIXIE WITCH, AEREOLA 51 and DADDY LONGHEAD, to name a few.
